QUESTION: How do I measure for an inside or outside mount?
ANSWER:

While we recommend you arrange for a professional to measure your windows, if you'd like to do it yourself, below are some general guidelines:

INSIDE MOUNT:

Measure the width inside the window opening at the top, middle and bottom.
The top measurement is critical because the headrail must fit!

Record the actual dimension of the shortest width to the nearest one eighth of an inch.

  1. Measure the height inside the window opening at left, right and center. Record the actual dimension of the shortest height to the nearest one eighth of an inch. Also measure the window on its diagonals. If the two diagonal dimensions are not exactly the same, it may be necessary to specify an outside mount for optimal fit, light control and privacy.
  2. The ordered width and height should be the actual dimension of the minimum width and height to the nearest eighth of an inch. We will adjust the actual width by 1/4" on each side to allow the blinds to raise and lower properly.  Important: Do NOT subtract from the actual window width. If you do, your blinds will be narrower than they should be for optimal light control.
  3. The ordered height should ensure clean operation at the base of the window as well as provide maximum privacy and light control.
  4. Be sure the window opening is deep enough to install the mounting bracket (no less than 3").

OUTSIDE MOUNT:

  1. Measure the desired width and height. To minimize light leakage, the shade should overlap the window opening at least 2" on each side and at the bottom.
  2. When measuring the height, take into account the requirements for mounting the bracket attachment.
QUESTION: Why does Radiant Blinds Inc take a standard deduction on blinds ordered for an inside mount?
ANSWER: Standard deductions are taken on an inside mount to allow for the product to operate properly without binding caused by too tight a fit.
QUESTION: How should my Radiant Blinds products be installed?
ANSWER:

Radiant Blinds products are manufactured to fit into any existing high profile,

3 inch mounting system.

If you currently have 3" high profile brackets installed in your window frame, remove your old set of window blinds and check the brackets. They should be fastened firmly into the wood studs of the window frame.  A minimum of three screws should be used for each bracket.

Radiant Blinds headrails are heavier than normal window blinds because they are loaded

with technology.  Therefore, it is important to make sure the mounting system is firm to avoid

personal injury and/or damage to your window blinds.

Radiant Blinds products also use electricity to drive the light engines.  In order to operate,

they must be connected to a power source.  This is why we offer two installation options:

Professional Hardwire Installation:

Select this option if you would like your product to be professionally installed by an electrician.

The electrician will hardwire your blinds into the electricity without any cords or wires showing.

* Your Dealer will assist you in locating a local electrician, who will charge you

(typically between $100 and $200) for this type of installation.

Wall Plug Installation:

Select this option if you would rather use a wall outlet to power your blinds.

Radiant Blinds products come with a slim cord and wall plug, which can easily be hidden

behind drapes or window trim.  In this case, you will simply route the wire behind drapes

and plug into a wall outlet.  Follow the setup instructions to complete installation of your blinds.

QUESTION: Where do I mount brackets for an outside mount?
ANSWER:

On an outside mount, three brackets are typically used: two that are positioned at each end of the headrail, and one in the center. Depending on the width of the product you've chosen, you may need other brackets that are spaced evenly along the headrail's length.

QUESTION: How do I clean my Radiant Blinds products?
ANSWER:

• To reduce static cling and help repel dust, wipe the product with dryer sheets.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents, as they will scratch or damage the surface.
• Moist (not wet) cloth may be used for plastic surfaces.
• Do not pull or tug visible cords while cleaning, as you could damage the hidden electrical connections.
Ultrasonic cleaning or use of chemical solvents and scrubbing cleansers are not recommended.
   They will damage the product.
Protect Radiant Blinds products from exposure to steam or high moisture areas, rain
   or outside irrigation systems
.
When cleaning windows, spray glass cleaner on a cloth rather than spraying directly on the window.
   This will prevent
damage to the lighting components of the blinds by splattering cleaner.

QUESTION: How long is the standard warranty on my Radiant Blinds product?
ANSWER:

Radiant Blinds warrants that our products will remain free from defects in materials and workmanship for 5 years from the original purchase date.  Radiant Blinds and Radiant Hues light engines (LED) components are gauranteed to last for a minimum of 3 years or 8,000 hours,

whichever comes first.

QUESTION: How do I know if my product is still under warranty?
ANSWER: Your Radiant Blinds product has an integrated timer, which calculates the time in use - up to the minute.
If you have a customer service issue and need to determine whether your product is still under warranty, you will need to contact one of our service representatives, who will walk you through the steps necessary to access the information in your products' integrated timer.

QUESTION: If I am not the original owner, how can I have my Radiant Blinds repaired?
